Dr. Miele Cosmed Group was honoured with Kod Innowacji [The Innovation Code] 2024 and Innowator ESG [ESG Innovator] awards for its activities in the area of practical implementation of sustainability principles in business. The following projects were recognised: the digital label on Sofin brand products (social area) and the due diligence system (corporate governance area).
‘Three years ago, Dr. Miele Cosmed Group S.A. adopted a sustainable development strategy. It has structured our corporate responsibility activities, and at many points has guided our thinking to a new trajectory. For us, both awards are the perfect culmination of months of hard work and proof that openness, thinking outside the box and courage are important in business,’ President Magdalena Miele commented on the awards.
The digital label on Sofin washing liquids and fabric softeners was awarded in the Innovation Code 2024 competition in the ‘I have a ready solution’ category. Commonly referred to as ‘Sofin with a dot’, the solution makes it easier for visually impaired individuals to use household chemicals. The use of two-dimensional codes is a gateway to the virtual world for them, allowing them to function without the assistance of the others. This is also an excellent solution for seniors. In the age of the silver tsunami, their number is growing with every year. The jury appreciated both the innovative approach to the use of QR codes and the wide scale of implementation and discussing the solution with the target audience.
The company received the Innowator ESG award for a systemic approach in the area of corporate governance. Due diligence is the keyword of modern sustainability management and one of the basic principles of non-financial reporting. The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises comprise the starting point. The orderly system of implementing sustainability policies within the organisation and in the value chain was appreciated.
‘Both awards are proof that innovation does not have to be expensive and complicated. The most important thing is to see the needs, a real desire to solve problems and act in accordance with the DNA of the brand and the company,’ President Miele summarised the received awards.
In addition, the company was recently among the leaders of the Corporate Climate Crisis Awareness study. The high score in the rank reflects the maturity in the area of climate action reporting. The average score for 163 stock-listed companies surveyed was 4.31, while Dr. Miele Cosmed Group S.A. scored 9.08 points out of 10 possible, a score that placed it among the TOP 13 companies.
Dr. Miele Cosmed Group S.A. is a stock-listed company, the largest Polish manufacturer of cosmetics and household chemicals, a family-owned company that offers its private brands: Bobini, Kret, Sofin and Apart for users of all ages.
