The Company has thus fulfilled its promise to shareholders to maintain the growth trend confirmed by the figures and the size of the dividend paid, which reached a record high of PLN 7.8 million in 2024.
“Looking objectively, this was another challenging year in the market due to the increase in operating costs beyond our control, further turbulence related to the availability of raw materials, and the dynamic situation in the FMCG market. We see a positive growth trend, the achieved results are satisfactory, although they still do not reflect the full potential of our organisation. Our ambition is to grow faster. We are focused on the consistent implementation of our strategy: growing exports and strengthening the market position of our brands, because it works. We are determined to double our turnover in the next few years,” said Magdalena Miele, CEO of Dr. Miele Cosmed Group S.A
Organisational changes in the Capital Group
After a preparatory process lasting several months, on 1 March 2024 the registry court officially confirmed the merger of the Capital Group’s two companies, from now on appearing under the common name of Dr. Miele Cosmed Group S.A. The new name emphasises the company’s family nature. The effects of the merger include organisational streamlining, which reduces costs and processes at the intra-group service level and redirecting of the released resources to sales growth.
The name change coincided with the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the company’s soap-making traditions in Jawor, providing an opportunity for large-scale promotion of the new name during a series of prepared events.
In April, the Management Board of Dr. Miele Cosmed Group S.A. adopted a business strategy. The four pillars that will ensure the company’s success include:
- Business satisfaction: including satisfied consumers, business partners and shareholders;
- Organic growth: including existing and new product categories and brands;
- Geographical growth: in the German market, as well as new and existing export markets;
- ESG – concern for the environment, the Team and the development of a desirable organisational culture.
The year 2024 also proved successful for our brands, which received a number of awards, i.e.: honourable mention in the “Złoty Paragon” [Golden Receipt] competition for the Kret, Bobini and Sofin brands; the Good Brand 2024 and Good Brand of the 15 year anniversary (2009-2024) for the Kret brand. In terms of sustainability, the digital label on the Sofin washing and rinsing liquids won the statuette of the Kod Innowacji 2024 [Innovation Code 2024] competition in the “I’ve got a solution” category while the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) granted the Capital Group with the ESG Innovator Award for its systemic approach in the area of corporate governance.
Sustainable development
For the first time, the Report on the activities of the Management Board contains a Statement on the Capital Group’s sustainable development prepared entirely in accordance with the ESRS – European Sustainability Reporting Standard (previously issued as a separate report prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative methodology). The Statement’s conformity with the facts was confirmed with a statutory auditor’s attestation. The document can be seen as a summary of the Sustainability Strategy implemented in the years 2022-2024 It shows the huge amount of work done in recent years to establish due diligence principles in line with OECD guidelines.
